The Winery

The Vardalis Winery was founded in 1998. The winery is located approximately 40 kilometres northwest of Limassol in the mountains. Koilani is a typical Cypriot village renowned for its wine production. Vardalis Winery’s wines have been honoured at international wine competitions, and the winery itself is one of the most renowned in Cyprus. Vardalis Winery is a fully hi-tech equipped winery that ensures quality at all levels of production, allowing for the superior quality of its wines. Vardalis Winery manufactures twelve varieties of wine, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Red & White Dry Wine, Shiraz, and Maratheftiko. The winery also offers a tasting room and retail space. If you are a Cypriot or a visitor interested in wine, winemaking, or wine tasting, you are welcome to visit our winery at any time.

The Winery

Koilani village is located in the centre of the traditional wine region of “Krasochoria.”
At the slopes of the Troodos Mountains are communities. Its 900 metres altitude, its
Climate and soil conditions are optimal for the development of high-quality wines.
In this region, the vine plantation extends back hundreds of years.
Recently, each home in Koilani contained a tiny winery and its owner/grower.
Properly equipped for the manufacture and delivery of wine to its final destination.

We, at the AYIA MAVRI winery, have been cultivating our own vines with the aim of producing our own wine.

We utilise the local cultivars mavro, xinisteri, and muscat of Alexandria.
As well as lefkada, shiraz, cabernet, mataro, grenache, and carignan are produced.

Ayia Mavri Winery

Our ancestors, grandfather, and father were responsible for cultivating their vineyards. They utilised pytharia (clay jars) for wine production and kazani (home distillery) for Radgi manufacturing (Zivania).
