The modest church is erected on a two-tiered platform at the base of each rock. The interior of the temple is of particular significance due to the fact that a woman raised the backs of the four 25-30 centimeter-tall stairs,
Above the main temple’s floor. Rupert Gunnis writes in his book Historic Cyprus that the church was constructed in the 15th century and that the narthex is a more recent addition. Konstantinos Spyridakis dates the church’s construction to the twelfth century. The old, first chapel is decorated with frescoes in a style that is rather modest.
